Issue with bendy ruler

We are using two RADARs as proximity sensors , one front one rear , installed on a drone .
We are testing the Obstacle Avoidance in a field with trees and a small hill.
The Horizontal Bendy RULER stops in front of the hill and does not slide horizontally .
The VERTICAL bendy Ruler is trying to pass the obstacles NOT from above but is moving also vertically down to a lower point. Consequently the drone in some case touches the ground .
How we can avoid the vertical down movement and keep only the vertical up ?
Thank you in advance

I too have encountered strange behavior in bendyruler. Here I have documented something and Randy has added to the list of problems

Good day Alberto have you resolved the BENDY RULER issues ?

Not yet, I’ll start experimenting again shortly, hoping it will clarify
