Yes, the Boxer is nearly double the cost of the Pocket, but I’d suggest it’s more than double the value. I’m assuming you already have the FlySky radio in hand, so you can use that while saving for the better radio.
Oo… some confusion happened to me while reading about the ELRS documents. I was thinking that backpack is that external module which we connect. Confusion cleared.
@cxtr , @Yuri_Rage , Yes, I can purchase the boxer as well, but the only fact is that, more the money required, more the time required to collect rupees. Boxer is double the cost, and receiver also increased slightly in expense, along with additional 20$ shipping charges, it becomes 16000 INR around. And I think it will take 1 year+ for me to collect this handsome amount. So yes, this can be in the list of my “future plans”. While for pocket M2, along with 15$ shipping and the new receiver, it will take 7 months+ to collect. And hope my parents give permission to make such a big investment in boxer. And if you are really giving force on boxer, so I will buy it. As for now, 1/5th amount is saved…
What do ever, let’s make this drone first… And the time will pass quickly having fun with this drone. And obviously I can upload the pre defined missions into it using cable.
Receiver cost doesn’t change.
No one is forcing you to do anything. We are simply trying to help you invest wisely. In my opinion, it’s worth a few extra months of saving for a superior product.
I saw more transmitters and found this Skydroid T12 transmitter. Now it is also an all in one solution. And I also searched on this forum about skydroid T12 problems, but found very few. It also has a long range, and can also show Telemetry data on phone, along with video feed, all in 18000 INR, with receiver and a something called “3 in 1” camera included. I will search what is “3 in 1” about it. But any problem in this?
It’s the same thing with a newer model name. The topic linked below is all I need to know to avoid it.
Contact them and ask why their support is so terrible.

@Yuri_Rage , @dkemxr ,
I got to know the shocking harsh reality of skydroid!!! Now this is really fraud… If their app is not opening up, then their transmitter becomes nearly useless … But then why on YT, people are still purchasing skydroid T12, and the apps are working for them?
That website which you shared doesn’t open up.
Really. No more research on transmitters… Boxer is just final… Although it doesn’t come with battery, but it comes with a good customer service.
(These foreign deliveries… I am tired waiting for Pixhawk 6C Mini…)
Opens to the contact page for me.
Again, not fraud, and not worth dragging a company’s name through the mud. My guess is that they were overly ambitious with a new product and found themselves struggling to support it. In all likelihood it was a good idea that just didn’t quite mature the way it should have. But that’s just speculation. We may never know the story behind those products.
I got an idea, can’t we do this idea using some type of programming?
Suppose if we try to connect a wireless mic system to drone, and some mic like structure in our hand, connected wirelessly to drone, and if we press a button and speak “Take Off to 20 metres height”, the drone immediately gets armed and takes off! Then, “Change flight mode to loitre”, flight mode gets changed, “Perform Return To Launch” , RTL executes, “Land at this place” to land, “move 100m forward, then 20m rightward, Flip rightwards there, and then perform RTL” and the mission executes as it is said!
How interesting! Drone control just by speaking.
Or, “Achieve a forward velocity of 6 m/s and simultaneously increase height with vertical velocity 2m/s and stop ascending height when 90m is reached”
Isn’t such possible?
Yes this is possible, but it has nothing directly to do with Ardupilot FC Firmware. You simple have to build a kind of GCS that converts the speech to corresponding commands.
So something to learn for a budding SW developer like you, initially without any risk for the drone
We did that 3 years ago. And participated in a Airbus public contest using it. Yes, it is possible.
And @rmackay9 also did it and I think even integrated it into mavproxy.
Really I will surely like to do such a thing even if it is complicated… It’s just that managing with loads of studies becomes somewhat difficult…
Hi @RudrakshTek,
Yes, it’s very possible and we have an open source solution built into MAVProxy. Here’s a YouTube video and blog post demonstrating it.
So can’t we get this functionality into mission planner ? It’s more user friendly? But still here, the chat GPT was infused somehow with the ground controls… I wanted to build all that… But just I don’t know such dense coding to do this hefty task of using ChatGPT as speech to command converter…
No, not that easy. It is available in MAVProxy. So learn MAVProxy. It is easier than learning how to integrate Voice recognition software into MP.
Hi @RudrakshTek,
I really would like to have it built into Mission Planner and QGC to make it readily available to all users. I implemented it in MAVProxy because that was within my technical abilities and MAVProxy is a good testing ground for alpha features.
The next step I was planning was to get it integrated into the TelemetryDashboard because this can piggyback off the Mission Planner link to the vehicle. The issue is that the TelemetryDashboard is read-only at the moment so we will need to fix that somehow.
If you’re interested in getting involved with the development in MP, QGC or Telemetry dashboard I’m happy to help although technically I’m more likely to be able to help if you chose to work on the Telemetry dashboard implementation
If I had even some experience in this field, then I must have said yes… But how will I “develop”… I don’t know anything about the coding part of ArduCopter. On the top of it, hardly any time of the day remains for my hobby purpose. I am really a growing beginner.
… This is a sad message to tell that I am not allowed to make such a big investment of 17000 INR in boxer…
So I will have to unwillingly look for another ELRS transmitter that is not pocket M2. I found about a company named “Jumper RC”. I saw its T pro ELRS transmitter. It looks like RadioMaster zorro transmitter. What are your opinion about this Jumper company?
