Autotune on a pivot test bench

Hi,

I have built a copter mounted on a pivot fixed on a table for indoor testing and playing around with PID tuning. The copter is free to rotate ±60 degrees in roll and pitch axis. Yaw is fixed.

Now I’m wondering if it’s possible also to complete an autotune on this setup. My concern is initiating the autotune from alt_hold flight mode, since it can’t change altitude.

Is there a way around this?
