what is the difference between ardupilot and ardurover
Why don’t we just look at the Wiki entry:
ArduPilot is a trusted, versatile, and open source autopilot system supporting many vehicle types: multi-copters, traditional helicopters, fixed wing aircraft, boats, submarines, rovers and more.
my bad, should have done more background research but thank you
what gps+compass should I buy that is worth the price? I was wondering if this GPS could work but it looked a bit dodgy. here is the link
Don’t buy that one. If you want a cheap GPS module go with the Flywoo GM10 with a compass.
Does it require sodlering
would the holybro micro m8n gps work
Sure it does. There is soldering on all RC craft.
would this work
i mean do you just plug the wire in or do you solder it on
Both of those come with a cable with a connector that plugs in to the GPS module with flying leads on the end that need to be soldered/spliced to the Flight Controller.
What is this fixation with soldering? It’s a requirement for the hobby.
i don’t actually have a solder.
but what if i am using a pixhawk 2.4.8
- Welding is simple * Welding is simple; It’s better to buy an H7
How are you going to solder the motor leads?
? i have a esc that just plugs stuff in
Use of bullet connectors is a bad idea as a point of failure but if that’s all you have…. OK for a boat I suppose as it can’t fall from the sky.
I can’t recommend one of those 2.4.8’s but people are using them successfully.
ok thank you very much
I think those are junk but people are using them successfully.
That GPS offers exactly the value for dollar that it should…it’s basically trash. But I guess it’s better than nothing if that’s all you can afford.
