I am making a quad plane with wingspan of 1.6 meter with maximum takeoff weight of 12Kg, running Arduplane 4.0.9 firmware . Since I am new to arduplane, I dont have any practical knowledge in quadplane tuning. Can anyone please suggest a procedure of method to tune it?

Are you sure about your 12kg target? It seems a lot for a 1.6m wingspan plane.

I had a question: Is there a separate procedure to tune the VTOL motors and the normal control surfaces? Or doing just the VTOL tuning is sufficient for a quad-plane?
Was wondering how the control surfaces (aileron, elevator, etc.) will behave for the gains that were set for the VTOL motors.
Would like to learn more about this
