Skyviper Control and Takeoff?

Hi, I really want to be able to control my skyviper gps through mavlink and python, or even through mission planner, but I just can’t seem to get anything working. In both python-dronekit and mission planner if I try taking off the drone just spins out of control, and barely leaves the ground. This has happened with all the skyvipers I have tried.

I’m not sure how to get it to fly, without just the remote controller included.
