I recently bought a MiniCube carrier, and I was trying to repurpose an orginal 3DR Solo Cube 2.0.
I have the mRo telemetry, power module, SBUS receiver all working and all sensors calibrated. I have sucessfully installed both PX4 1.8.2 and Arducopter 3.6.7 firmware. The only issue is the GPS. I have tried several known working M8N units, even the orginal M7N 3DR solo GPS, and no avail.
The HERE+ GPS is out of my budget for now.

yes, it is
I know at least two who are using it (albeit not on a mini carrier), @mike_kelly and me, but there surely are plenty more who could confirm that from own experience
since everything else is working I would think you just got the wiring or some params wrong
As OlliW says, yes it is possible. The GPS is a serial connection. There is no standard for the connectors. So you most likely have RX and TX reversed. It happens to most everyone at some time.
