Ping sonar sensor connections and configuration

I have connected a Ping sonar sensor to my PX4 flight controller via the telemetry port, but the sensor data is not being displayed in Mission Planner or QGroundControl. What steps should I take to troubleshoot and resolve this issue?

I donโ€™t believe you want to use the telemetry port for that. Try the CAP & ADC IN port then set the Mission planner RNGFND1_PIN to one of the ADC ports.

If you canโ€™t find the RNGFND1_PIN parameter, you should change the RNGFND1_TYPE or something similar to your sonar sensor, then refresh the params to see the other ones.

@bassyreflex he is talking about using an underwater sonar not an analog sonar rangefinder.
