Obstacle avoidance in auto mode

Is there any chance we will have obstacle avoidance in auto mode? At least an option to stop the vehicle when it detects an obstacle in auto mode. Advanced tech stuff to avoid and go past can come in future.

It’s on the to-do list. It’s not a hard change actually to make it just stop… I’ll try and get that into a future point release.

Agreed on the need for this, especially in search and rescue operations. You never know when tall tree is going to pop out of nowhere :wink:

Hopefully we will have a version in some 3.6.x releases.

I was thinking of using a companion computer to switch to Brake mode when the range reaches a certain threshold. I would obviously rather have it be a function on board the aircraft with maybe a two step system like the new bat FS settings. Possibly a sensor_alert action like change speed and sensor_avoid action like RTL or Brake.
