No GPS Lock – waited 30 minutes

Hi ArduPilot Community,

I’ve been working with ArduPilot for a while, but I’m currently facing an issue while calibrating the GPS module on my setup. I’ve followed the calibration steps outlined in the documentation, but the GPS is not showing any proper fix (I’m stuck at “No GPS Lock”).

Here’s what I’ve tried:

Verified the GPS module is connected correctly and powered.

Checked for firmware updates on ArduPilot and the GPS module.

Tested using alternate GPS settings within Mission Planner.

Waited longer than 30 minutes to provide the GPS adequate time to gain a proper lock.

I tried all these methods, and yet I am unable to receive a stable GPS signal. Anyone run into a similar problem or have any troubleshooting tips I may be missing?

Also, I’ve been doing some Alteryx Training to enhance my data processing capabilities, and I was curious if anyone has ever used ArduPilot with Alteryx for data analysis or post-flight processing.

Any assistance would be much appreciated!

Best regards,
wamik

GNSS planning.

Choose a good satellites day and hour for your location, specially looking for low HDOP, and operate in open sky.

Use some u-box utility.

Any transmitters near the GPS antenna can cause interference.

Keep the GPS antenna away from all other antennas!

I have my 915mhz in between my 2 gps antennas. What do you mean by “near”?

For most of the drones around here we’re happy if we can get 10 cm. Looking at your photo I think you’ll be fine. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

@Allister If that 915MHz transmitter uses high power and has not output filter, it will cause issues, even at that distance

@marblecreek disable the 915Mhz transmitter and re-test. Does the problem go away?
