New flight mode to plane

Hello, I’m trying to add a new flight mode to arduplane. I’ve followed the guide to add the new mode to copter present in http://ardupilot.org/dev/docs/apmcopter-adding-a-new-flight-mode.html
But my new flight mode, called “FLY8”, don’t show up when I do a SITL testing…

Is there any tip to resolve this?

I got it working by calling in console “mode 24” instead of mode fly8
