Most integrated compact FC for Fixed Wing option

Looks like there is a mini version and mini4, more to add to my confusion

If you want long range there’s several options. TBS Crossfire or Tracer will work, but there’s lots of choices in the setup depending on what you want to do. ExpressLRS is also a choice but not for the faint at heart.

As for the Matek boards, I understand your concern with open boards but here’s something to consider, some times plugs will force your mounting or limit it in a small build, whereas an open board will leave you more choices and options for where to fit it because you can solder the wires directly if you need.

Thanks I will look into the tracer, i’m still not sure if it is necessary given what I want to do.

As for the open board, I understand where space constraints might be beneficial, the way I want to use this in the model it is actually more beneficial to have a closed case b/c of the space in the fuselage.

Thanks said what is your opinion on these or do you think there is a better option?

I have no experience with the Holybro boards but they are well regarded. Either would probably work but if you have the cash go for the Pixhawk4 since it’s probably a little more future proof.

Keep this list in mind to for some of the smaller boards:

If you want to run Ardusoar in your glider boards like the Kakute may not work for you.

Thanks for that info, i had no idea there were different options based on flash memory. I will look at the Pixhawk4 in detail and confirm.

I did not know there was a Ardusoar, I was planning on just using the aurduplane. It’s like peeling an onion with no end.

Is there another board you recommend you are familiar with that is similar in size ?

Back to the H743-Wing… H7>F7 when talking about “Future Proof”

Dave is there an option like pixhawk4 that has enclosure you recommend?

CUAV Nora. I don’t own one but did some work on a big X8 multirotor that had a Cube Black and Cube Orange before it. Very impressive.

awesome thanks for the tip will start researching that one

Pixracer Pro may be another good choice for you. I have 3 Pixracers (not pro) and they are solid. Pro has the latest Processor and IMU suites.

Let me take a look at that as well. At this point it might be what is in stock

mRo sells a pixracer kit with all the goodies. It’s worth a look.

To help you peel back more of that onion:

Great more u-turns in my research

Yeah, that happens a lot around here. Enjoy!

For small and simple, I typically go for something Pixracerish from MRO. They are reasonably compact, perform fine and have a port for spitting out FrSky telemetry without the need for an adaptor cable, which, for me, is a very handy feature.

Thanks, i looked at the mro options and like the mateck they are open board. I’m really liking the CUAV Nora since the v3x is being discontinued and pixhawk4 (slightly smaller). But still researching both

Do you guys have recommendations on FPV/HD video cameras and communication frequency and reliable hardware?

runcam and caddx and foxeer have hybrid cameras and one that are self contained with its own battery.

Is there a reputable video comms link rx/tx like the Crossfire that you recommend?

One upvote for anythinh mRo. My one experience with customer support was excelent. Knowledgable fellow got back to me in 30 min. Good hardware arrived ontime , worked good. One problem with an antenna, they shipped me a new one right away.

The Matek is much more advanced than the mini. It’s priced right and they have support but you need good soldering skills . But I would put a Matek in a $10,000 plane without hesitation .They have never failed me

What do you mean by “open board”
