Lua script, HELP )

Greetings. I have never used scripts, I would like to learn. Help me figure out the LUA script. There is such a script from the examples.
As I understand it, this file needs to be copied to the SD, assign a channel (to select a mission) and activate(arming).
There are a few questions:

  1. As I understood from the description, when “arming” this script will be executed immediately, and in another mode (auto, macro …) I can’t switching it in any way. Is it so?

  2. Is it possible to make one channel to activate the script, and the second channel to select the mission?
