Looking for assistance with Oscillations and General Config Help

Which graph are you referring to?

You were pointing out the oscillations that I was having. And I can see them in the graphs you posted. So I was wondering what ‘good’ looks like vs what I have going on

OK, the main one being Desired v Actual
This is a quick test on an Octo pushing it hard in pitch then roll to see how the oscillations look.

This is a not so good graph where I had forgotten to set the filters resulting in a flip.
Initially it looks to be holding well but ion the end you can see the roll totally loses it.

I was able to spend a little time at the field today.

I tried to autotune my pitch, but it never finished, even after 15 minutes. I then tried again for a second time, and still it would not finish. Is there anyway to see how much longer it has? Almost like a progress bar?

Here are the pitch logs:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AplYZe-uqPEBgusshsTVtMErg3dTtQ?e=isza1V

I then put in a new battery and started auto tune on Roll, that finished

And here are the Roll Logs:

Any thoughts on the Pitch autotune issue?

Thanks

Dave

I can see where you stopped it and restarted but as you pointed out there is no progress indicator so it may have just been about to finish.
Seeing as you got pitch to tune, try just doing the roll on its own.
And you are not limited to one autotune, you can do it multiple times.
Just use the parameter to start from existing PID’s instead of starting from scratch.

Mike that’s exactly what I was going to do… take the last settings from the auto tune logs and use those as start parameters for tomorrow’s attempt.

Thanks for the continued support and guidance

In reading your response I have a question…

what is the parameter to start from existing PID’s ? Is that a config option?

Does autotune start from the pids that are currently entered? Or does it truly start from scratch each time?

Thanks

To close this thread up…

I was able to complete autotune on all three axis.

The quad flies really well now, and battery life seems great.

Here are the log file from today

Thanks for all your help!
