Inexperienced user support

Speedybee and Skystars compete in the budget market segment. They get mixed reviews but are at least recognizable names with some history of success stories and at least a modicum of product support.

…!
That means again soldering… Of the ESC wires to Pixhawk ESC out somehow…

Ok then I finally Finalized the speedybee 60A 4 in 1 ESC:
https://robu.in/product/speedybee-bls-60a-30x30-4-in-1-esc/?gad_source=4&gclid=Cj0KCQjwsoe5BhDiARIsAOXVoUtwdsLxaiQP1T-aD1tVoV0ctqDge3Ovv4ksUi-UW2AwS7ziVcvzeVIaAmvrEALw_wcB
and when the items arrive, I will require you People’s complete help because Even mounting the items will be something new for me…
Hope that this ESC works for looooong as a 4 in 1 ESC can not be repaired…

Yes, you need to learn to do that from someone that can teach you. Ask around in you school.

See this:

This is the manual of the SpeedyBee BLS 60A ESC. Here, we have 8 pin as output from the ESC. Here, S1, S2,S3,S4 will be connected to ESC 1,2,3,4 of Pixhawk. But where will that current pin go in Pixhawk? And what is that N/A there? And surely we don’t have any use of the BEC of this ESC (on the pins VBAT, GND on ESC)

Actually I think, what I have to do with that current pin also? I will never watch how much current is going into my motors… And the power module is there to monitor the current and voltage…

If you have a working, and calibrated power module capable of monitoring both voltage and current, you do not need to connect the VBAT and CURRENT wires.

If you connected the VBAT pin from the ESC to anything on the Pixhawk 6C you would likely damage the Pixhawk 6C.

Yes I will be using Holybro PM02 V2 power module. And that’s a highly capable PM that comes with Holybro Pixhawk 6C Mini.

I would like to ask, what’s the difference between what we people create here (copters, Rovers, fixed wings etc) and simple toys!?
The question seems funny, but I still want to know, when I, will fully complete this Quadcopter, then what will be the difference between this thing and a toy GPS drone which costs 12000 INR only!?
Everybody here at my place is saying that I prepare “Expensive Toys!” . And I am going speechless…
What task this Pixhawk 6C Mini made drone can do, which a toy can’t do!? And if Pixhawk 6C Mini can do a thing which differs from it being a toy, then let’s do that!

Toys can not be controled by anything else than the provided remote controller.

The one you are building can

  1. Operate a predefined mission autonomously
  2. Perform real time decisions based on user defined lua scripts
  3. Be controlled in real time via a pc or a companion computer. You need to write the software to do this. It can use computer vision and cameras.
  4. You can learn a lot of engineering skills with this, especially programming, electronics (soldering) and mechanics (reducing vibrations, mounting parts precisely)
  5. Due to all this flexibility you can adapt and expand it to meet your needs. You can start providing services and lear to build and run your own company.

This are just a few of the advantages. But as you can see all of the advantages are only advantages if you are ready to work on them and invest a lot of time and efford.

If you just want to play, buy a toy.

This thing is called an “SiK data telemetry”. What all type of data can it communicate?

If I use it in my drone, then what benefits will I get? I read how to configure it in MP, and I also read that some “tasks” can be given to drone using this during flight!?

Yes it allows MP to communicate with the vehicle during flight

Once your drone is tuned and properly configured you can use the SiK radios to fly the drone from your laptop.

https://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-gcs-only-operation.html

Warning, there are many clone SiK radios on the market. Many are junk. I only recommend Holybro, and mRo. I’ve heard 3DR is making radios again but I’d only buy them from known sources since there seems to be a ton of clones of those ones.

But who will like to go in the nearest park with the laptop and drone !? Isn’t laptop a big thing to control the drone?
If I use a 500MW Holybro SiK Telemetry, then how much range will I get in urban areas?

You were just asking about what separated these drones from toys, and the ability to used detailed control systems is one of them. You can also plug SiK radios into an android table (via OTG cable) and use Mission planner Android.

Or just fly it like a toy with a radio. Nothing wrong with that. It’s great fun and I do it every chance I get. But that doesn’t pay the bills.

In ideal conditions those radios might give you 600m. I’ve gone further with these but it’s really conditional. In an urban environment there’s too many variables to say, but I wouldn’t expect more than a few hundred meters.

So that means that this telemetry radio is a “Highly” optional thing, which is just used to fly out drone using laptop or phone?
Should I place it in my drone then? Or wait for the first successful flight and then install that? Or is that thing completely optional to put?

I think the most relevant question is, what you want to do with your drone and what you expect from your drone.
Telemetry is not necessary just to fly a quadcopter. And depending on the design of the drone, it can be retrofitted at any time when there is money in the till again

It’s totally optional. You can do it now or later. The radios are light enough that you can add them to most 10" quads without having any significant change.

Listen I have a doubt, that my drone will be having the B19 camera, connected to TS835 VTx, and the analog 5.8GHz VRx. But the problem is that this VRx is connected directly to the phone using OTG, and thus, no telemetry can be connected to phone!? Can’t the Pixhawk take the video of camera and send it via the the air telemetry to the ground telemetry and then I can view it in QGC?
(I have just downloaded QGC Android as MP Android is not available currently…)

Actually I am always somewhat feared to fly homemade drones because of that APM 2.8, the issues I have faced with the APM were terrible and my drone crashed bitterly many times. I am even more feared to fly the drone directly from my mobile! What if drone went out of control!? What if it went straight up in the air? What if I cannot control it by my remote? What if it flipped bitterly? What if FC malfunctions!? What if it falled on somebody’s head! What if when it take off but didn’t lands even when I send the land command!
OMG! This fear…
