As I have stated in a previous discussion, I’ve decided to replace the APM on my Tarot 650 Sport with a current f.c. and I decided on a Holybro Pixhawk 6C. I was going to wait until after the holidays to place my order but I’m concerned about upcoming tariffs (some importers may jump the gun and raise prices ahead of time). So I ordered it along with a pair of telemetry modules - it looks as if the telemetry modems I have for the APM are not plug compatible.
My main concern now is what kind or receiver I should use. I currently have a 10 ch FS-1A10B, which supports the I-Bus protocol. Should I replace it with a Spektrum DSM receiver or an 8 ch S-Bus? Any recommendations?
What I mean by plug-compatible is that the connector on my existing telemetry module doesn’t look like it will fit in the port on the f.c. Also, there are a different number of wires - I don’t know why that is.
Yes, I know that the wires on my telemetry modem consis ot 4 leads - tx, rx, pwr, gnd. But the 6C wiring diagram shows 6 wires coming from the telemetry module. I’m not inclined to order a 6 pin plug, remove the pins on my modem and stick them in an hope that I put them in the correct slot. I have already ordered a pair of telemetry modules that will go with the 6C and will use them.
Now my only question is what kind of receiver I should use - an expensive Sprktrum DSM receiver, or some 8 ch S-Bus unit.
You don’t need the rts/cts pins on the port just Tx/Rx power and gnd.
Use whatever receiver you have a Transmitter for that uses a supported protocol. I seem to recall you had a Pixhawk that crashed, same protocols are supported.
And there is always docs: Pixhawk 6C RC Systems
