Here3+ GPS No Fix Issue - Need Assistance

Hello,

I am experiencing an issue with my Here3+ GNSS module where it fails to obtain a fix despite being outdoors with a clear view of the sky. I have already ensured that my firmware is up to date, and I have taken several troubleshooting steps, including:

  1. Verified all connections are secure and undamaged.
  2. Confirmed the GPS configuration in the flight controller software (Mission Planner/QGroundControl) is correct.
  3. Tried connecting the GPS module to a different port on the flight controller.
  4. Ensured there are no sources of RF interference nearby.
  5. Performed a fresh compass calibration.
  6. Verified that the GPS antenna is not damaged and properly connected.

Despite these efforts, the GPS module still does not obtain a fix.
Here are some additional details:

  • Model: Here3+
  • Flight Controller: [cube orange plus with arducopter 4.5.4 firmware]
Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Muthuswaminathan

Hi @MUTHUSWAMINATHAN_S ! Have you followed the steps and set the correct parameters as mentioned here: Here 3 Manual | CubePilot ?

Yes, i set the params as mentioned in the manual
CAN_D1_PROTOCOL: 1
CAN_D2_PROTOCOL: 1
CAN_P1_DRIVER: 1
CAN_P2_DRIVER: 1
GPS_TYPE: 9
NTF_LED_TYPES: 231
BRD_SAFETYENABLE as 0

I have attached the param file in this drive

“No fix” means that configuration is likely correct, but there is no navigation solution. Wait at least 15 minutes outside, powered on, before declaring there’s a problem.

Thankyou for the reply, yes i have waited in the outdoor with clear sky for around 20 mins. No satellites connected (it shows 0 sats)

@Yuri_Rage what might be problem bro? I could not solve this problem.
Your help is greatly appreciated

I think you should contact CubePilot. It sounds like a hardware failure.

I suggest to use u-center to check GPS unit first.

And do the following comparsion tests:

a. GPS with clean serial adapter power + u-center
b. GPS with quad copter power + u-center
c. GPS with quad copter power + GCS/RC

Note: Should be at the same location, during the same time period, with the same GPS module, and with the same copter.

While those aren’t bad ideas, you’ll need to use serial passthrough on the autopilot to connect the Here3 to u-Center. There is no direct serial connection exposed.
