Flying without a compass?

Ive been trying for a few hours to get my compass (neo m8n) to work. It’s still just not working and I am now seriously convinced that it’s broken or something.

The GPS does work and is very accurate.

For my first few flights (just want to get this plane in the air, see if it flies) could I do them without the compass?
If yes what should I keep in mind while flying?

Plane: Ranger 2400
FC: Matek h743 wing v3
GPS: Neo M8N with compass
Aim of first flights: Autotune, just fly it around in FBWA or Manual, get a feel for the plane

Your link to the documentation is basically it. If you have any particular issues, be ready to take over in MANUAL, STABILIZE or FBWA. Then come back and report them, and perhaps we can solve them.

In theory it’s possible, but I would be careful flying TAKEOFF, AUTO or RTL without a compass, make sure you test it well before you rely on it.
