Compass scale values not getting after doing MagCal for larger vehicle

I want to know how the compass scale values will impact my flying.

Currently I am using arducopter 4.2.3 stable in my copter. Usually I will do the compass calibration using the options available in Mission planner. Since my new hexacopter is bigger in size, I couldn’t perform calibration in usual way of rotating in all axis, so I tried doing Large vehicle MagCal option my mobile phone’s true magnetic heading. After entering the value, the compass scale values are still zero.

Flying my hexacopter without scale value will cause any error?

Use Magfit instead.

But Magfit will again ask for Scale values right?. Actually what is the exact use of Scale values?

No. Magfit calculates based on a scale factor of 1. You will see this in the results presented.
