On my speedy bee f405 my bn-880 is giving the error messages states in the title and my compass won’t calibrate, any help?
The BN 880 is a M8 chip and may need 10-20 minutes for a 3dfix after a cold start. Put it outside and wait, then do the compass calibration.
Be aware that ublox M10 is the recent standard. There are plenty of GPS + Compass in M10 class, e.g.
etc.
So if it’s plugged in and booted and left for 20 mins outside it’ll sort itself out?
Clear view of the sky, it should.
The time consuming part is receiving the satellite almanac via satellite.
Apparently those are provisioned on the newer GPS chips and burns down cold start time to a few minutes.
I’ve left it sat outside and now I have sat connections, however I can’t get the compass to calibrate, I’ve done the figure 8 pattern and swiveled it about but the green bar goes to 100% and back to 0 everytime, any advice?
assert that COMPASS_AUTO_ROT is 2 (CheckAndFix) and follow the section
“If calibration fails: …”
