Benewake TF02 CAN Bus version and CAN BUS USB Dongle

ok I just got it to work.

I download this driver first.

For interfacing CAN object to a Windows I highly recommend a Babel board.

For me it has been worth it’s weight in gold

Dave,

When it comes CAN BUS, are there different release of CAN protocol?

Currently everything we are using is version 1.0 I believe

So it really doesn’t matter what type/Brand of USB to CAN bus dongle one will use.

Let me rephase… it doen’t matter what can module you use, the babel board will work for all of them

I can’t find your new TF02-pro blog…

@ppoirier @Dave84 @iampete @smartdave

I exchanged some emails with Benewake last night. the TF-02 ONLY works in serial mode with Ardupilot, the CAN is not supported at all with Ardupilot FC’s.

That’s a news to me…

the way of communication is different, protocol is different. we have two products with IIC protocol, one is compatible with ardupilot and the other is not although both have IIC protocol the reason is both have different sequence of data bytes transmission.

Good day,
im using tf mini S on a mRo can node flashed with rangefinder firmware without issues… soon i will start test others rangefinder sensor on it.

Are you saying TF mini is compatible with Ardupilot in CAN mode?

Im using tf mini S uart… instead of using uart im using it on a can node

Ok sorry my brain is not functioning today.

So you are doing serial to CAN conversion?

Yes…on the bottom of the mRo can node there are uart pads…diy soldering, few settings using Can Gui tool and on MP…the sensor give measurement

ok cool, but will it work with Pixhawk?

im using mro x2.1 777fc

Which is reduced version of PixHawk1. Interesting…ok let us know how it works out.

Yes correct…reduced version of PixHawk1

Received the CAN bus converter from Titan but someone from the post office stole it…wow!

Oh noo… That’s terrible
