An Open Source Frsky Telemetry Script for the Horus X10,X12 and Taranis X9D,X9E and QX7 radios

Hello Dave,
Follow the link in the first post to Alex’s github page. There you will find his script, and links that will show cables, pixhawk setup . And those linked pages offer even more info.
Once you have the script installed and running on your radio, the cable connected and configured to pixhawk, you’ll see everything on your radio.

Thanks Joe, I appreciate the information. I have the converter and some spares and will make the link cable myself.

Thanks again,

Cheers Dave.

Hello, your work is wonderful. Please do a telemetry check by RSS. I do not have the RxBt parameter
I have an inscription no telemetry data

Hi, it’s already that way.
If you need help please post a description of your problem and I’ll try to help you

I have an inscription no telemetry data

I guess you are not receiving passthrough telemetry packets.

Please make sure to use serial protocol 10

thanks for the quick answers … i will look for the problem … and ask you questions

Hi Sergei,
those sensor are not exposed to OpenTX by the script, for instance fuel is always limited to 99% and you have 100%, also RPM is not exposed by the script at all!

Please disable the script, remove all discovered sensors and run discovery: if you discover the sensors again you’re not selecting the right protocol in mission planner.

Which version of ardupilot are you using?
Can you pm me you params file?

I use the mavlink to frsky conversion
http://openrcforums.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5485

I use this receiver FrSky D8R-XP

this explains why, your configuration is not supported by my script!

This script needs

  • OpenTx 2.2.x
  • sport enabled receiver
  • recent ardupilot with native frsky passthrough protocol support
  • sport telemetry cable
  • frsky passthrough protocol configured on ardupilot

with the receiver FrSky D8R-XP it is not possible ??

can it be possible to convert mavlink to S.port telemetry?

With that receiver you have to select another FrSky telemetry protocol DPort

See here http://ardupilot.org/copter/docs/common-frsky-repurposed.html#common-frsky-repurposed

And you can not use this script

It is possble to convert Mavlink to SPort with external Arduinos or Teensy boards.

Hi Alex,

I increased the rate of vel and yaw messages to every 100ms from 500ms. The latency is much better now and I think the vario will be usable for soaring. My branch is here (based on ArduPlane 3.8.4). I will submit a PR also. https://github.com/samuelctabor/ardupilot/tree/reduceVarioLag

Alex.

Just loaded this version of the script. Much better (the HUD); it looks more like the Attitude Indicator in small planes (jets have them too) with the darkened portion representing the ground. Well done.

Hi, did you fly with it?
And how’s the HUD, is it still smooth or lags?

just curious

Hi all,
anybody willing to create the german sound files?

the easy way is to translate the english phrase file https://github.com/yaapu/FrskyTelemetryScript/blob/master/SOURCES/english.psv

and use it with TTSAutomate
