A few questions regarding range finder and altitude control

1 - When flying a mission with waypoints set to “relative” is the rage finder being used? It seems that it isn’t…
2 - When flying a mission with waypoints set to “terrain” using a range finder, if I climb more than a few meters (10 - 11 meters) I get a “error failsafe terrain -1”. probably because I exceeded the range finder range which is set to 7m. Is it possible to avoid this failsafe? can the pixhawk continue using only the barometer?
