I have a 4s 1500mah, 100C battery, and want to know what size drone i could build using it. I would like to include a small camera like runcam thumb or other. Any ideas or suggestions please.
eCalc would be your friend here Colin but I can give you an example of one of my craft.
4", w/ 2206 2380kv motors, 4S 1550mah 100C battery. 450g take-off weight. Plenty of thrust to add some weight.
Edit:There was mistake with the motor size that has been corrected.
No, that’s a 5",1404 3800kv, low pitch prop, sub 250g running on a 2S Li-ion. It’s actually on 3S Lipo now.
It’s this one. And I had to make another correction, this is a 4" not a 5". I have too many…
Thanks Dave, now i would like to pick your brains somemore.
What motors are you using, and where do i get more info about building a 4" drone like yours? Eg. Frame size props etc.
This 4" has EdgeRacing motors which is a value line from Sunnysky. But I have used BetaFpv, iFlight, T-motor, Emax and a few more. I think the iFlight Motors are nice. Beat them hard and for $15-$20 a motor not a bad price. I have used frames from many sources, several from Amazon. The iFlight frames are nice too. The 7" one I had was a beast until it was run over by a combine. There are all kinds of props. Get try-blades from a brand name.
What Flight Controller will you use?
I have an Omnibus F4 which I thought I would use, other than that I have a H743-Slim on another drone which I could use. I have too many as well.
I have built a diode laser and am keen to cut some parts.
I would not use the Omnibus F4. That’s just handicapping the build.
What do you reckmmend. Is the SpeedyBee F405 one you would recommend, and can it be flashed for mission planer?
Better off to stick to the H7 like the one you have. I’ll consider F4 if I have it and it’s already paid for, but if I’m buying something for a new build get an H7.
