Sometimes, forum discussions get out of hand, e.g. when users start to behave offensively against others. The best way to deal with that and prevent further escalation is to lock the topic. Also, when writing a general information post or an announcement, user replies are not necessary or not desired. When a topic is locked, it is not possible for any user to answer to it. To lock a topic, proceed as follows:
1.) Go to the respective topic and scroll down until you see the “Quick-mod tools”. From the dropdown field, select “Lock topic” and click “Go”.

2.) On the following screen, click on “Yes”.
