Will this work?

Hi all, I have been wanting to build an antenna tracker mostly for video feed as I use 900mhz RFD900x for control link and need something to extend the 5.8ghz video link a little further.

Everything I have seen uses a secondary flight controller and GPS on the tracker unit, couldn’t I just use the Microsoft tablet I use for live telemetry (which has it’s own gps) and connect a maestro servo controller to USB and just control the tracker that way ? or am I missing an important step.

sure see,

The advantage of using a flight controller is that it adds closed loop angle and yaw fedback. You will have to setup north each time on the servo controller version.

Thank you ! I will have a good read of that.
