Why doesn't my APM 2.5 dataflash work?

With my APM 2.5, everything except the on-board dataflash works fine. Compass is good, flight is stable, etc.

In Mission Planner 1.2.66 MAV 1.0, when I connect in terminal mode it says:

load_all took 11232us 3No dataflash inserted3ArduCopter V3.0.1]

Then when I type logs

ArduCopter V3.0.1] logs

I get the response:

logs enabled: none

And then the CLI hangs

Is the flash HW is defective? Any ideas?
