Waiting for heartbeat

Hi I need some help. I’m following the instructions here http://ardupilot.org/dev/docs/raspberry-pi-via-mavlink.html but I’m stuck at the part " Waiting for Heartbeat ".
I’ve been shuffling between using Ubuntu and Raspbian but it doesn’t work bothways. If anyone could assist me with this problem I would appreciate it very much. Thanks

did you solve your problem? I have same problem with TK1 board.
