VTOL, Plane or Multirotor?

Years of experience on RC Planes with/without gyros and Quadcopters (with Betaflight). Just obtained a Hee Wing Ranger VTOL. Need a passing four year old!

Its flown in Tricopter mode, nicely controllable and stable into and down 5-8 mph breeze, horrible cross breeze, a nasty combination of twitchy and soggy in roll. Only flown tricopter, not risked transition!

I have fitted HDZero to UART2, cannot get OSD. Hours trying, REALLY frustrating!

Mission Planner is pretty impeneterable. Tried lots, not cleared either of the above.

Ideas Please?

Welcome to the community.

Is OSD supported by the firmware?
Wich firmware version are you using?
Does that board have enough ram?

Thanks for contact.

The model variant bought came with FC, GPS, etc. Only needed FPV (HDZero) and Rx (ELRS). both work except no OSD display.

  1. Hee Wing instructions include digital set up for DJI03, DJI Air/Vista, Avatar and SharkByte (alias HDZero).

  2. Hee Wing are issuing this VTOL with Arduplane 4.3.5 stating it has been set up with parameters tuned for the specific model.

  3. Must assume so since they state how to connect!

Mission Planner has OSD Screen 1 set up. I have reduced the amount displayed (as its far too much on-screen real estate used to take account of)
