Hello.
My name is Jose Manuel, I’m Spanish and I’m 17. Sorry for writing so much because I do not control the English language.
I have looked there if there was a section presentation, but I have not found. Sorry yes I screwed and should introduce myself.
Wear over a month reading here and there manuals and issues concerning mega APM 2.5 and more or less I’m clarifying the issue.
I am a carp fisherman and I have an rc bait boat to take to the water to attract the fish to the fishing places. The rudderless boat has two engines. To rotate an engine and loosen the other speeds.
I want to mount a plate ArduPilot 2.5, a GPS and a set 3DR telemetry.
Some of the questions that I have is how to use the gps maps without a network connection.
I hope I do not take for heavy and see if I can go help someone with advice mounting, calibration, etc…
@JoseManuel,
You actually have two subjects in your post here. I suggest that you post your MP map post in the MP Forum and leave the configuration of the APM on your R/C boat here where it appropriately belongs.
The APM ArduRover2 firmware can be configured for skid steering so that you can control your port and starboard motors without using a rudder. You can learn about the Rover APM here: http://rover.ardupilot.com/wiki/apmrover-setup/ This link will help you understand the skid steering: http://rover.ardupilot.com/wiki/apmrover-loading-the-code-and-setup/#Skid_Steer_Functions

Hello again, Thanks for answering.
Do not quite understand what you mean by these words: You actually have two subjects in your post here. I suggest that you post your MP map post in the MP Forum and leave the configuration of the APM on your R/C boat here where it appropriately belongs.
Thanks and sorry for my ignorance
Hi,
I’m interested in configuring rudless steering, but the second link that you posted was actually have been removed.
Can you post it again?
Can you also publish links where I can find information on the specific configuration of the boat?
I studied the ardurover guide on http://ardupilot.org/rover/index.html but the informations about the boat configuration are very poor.
From a quick look at a picture of the Devos 8S receiver, it doesn’t appear to have ppm-sum output (i.e. a 3-cable wire that outputs all channels over a single signal wire). I don’t think this can be connected to most of our modern flight controllers without using a ppm encoder.
I recommend getting a receiver which has the ppm-sum instead of trying to use a ppm-encoder because the encoders can be surprisingly power hungry (I don’t know why, they have a very simple job to do) and they add lag.
Thank you .
Hi .
To establish three flight modes (manual, automatic, hold, and return home), would not this transmitter be worth it?
Thanks for your kindness .
An APM flight controller is not a good choice I’m afraid. We don’t support this board anymore. It’s possible to load ArduPilot onto it but the code is over 2 years old so at least personally, I won’t be able to provide support.
There is a wide variety of other, even very low cost boards that we support, that are listed here.
