USB joystick doesn't do anything

Hello folks.
I’m kinda puzzled, because I don’t understand how is joystick used in Qgroundcontrol.
The situation is, when I use virtual onscreen joystick on my Android tablet, everything works - the servos on my Navio plane moves etc.
However, when I use USB joystick on Mac computer, I can calibrate it etc. but it doesn’t do anything.
I’m using latest Arduplane on Navio via UDP, no radio.
