HI, I am new to Ardupilot.I am trying to connect a Speedy Bee F405 wing , but have no joy.I have noticed many with the same issue . I connect the FC to INAV with no problem. Am i missing a setting in device manager?
I am getting tired of changing and upgrading usb drivers? Maybe i am just ticking a wrong box some where?
Any advice will be great?
Thanks
Steve
So you successfully installed Ardupilot and can’t connect to Mission Planner?
So the FC is running a INAV firmware and not a ARDUPILOT firmware?
So describe in detail what you try to do.
Hi, i am trying to connect Ardupilot to a Speedy Bee FC, however Ardupilot doesnt want to connect , and i keep getting messages like, no heartbeat packets received.
The comport shows,STMicroelectronics Virtually Port.
My system is;
Windows 10. Mission Planner 1.3.82 build 1.3.9007,4717
Thanks
Why don’t you answer my simple question?
What firmware is installed on the Speedy Bee FC, INAV or Ardupilot?
Since you wrote in the first post that the Speedy Bee FC works fine when connected to INAV, I suspect that no Ardupilot firmware is installed.
Go here and page down to the bottom
SB Wing Ardupilot
Hi, i believe it has firmware for both. As per FC instruction manuel.
You are not answering the simplest of questions. Surely you are not suggesting it has both firmware’s?
Did you install Ardupilot firmware on the FC? They do not come with Ardupilot.
Steve, this is a common issue and very frustrating. Some options are to use QGC and flash Ardupilot. Reboot the main computer and flash plugging in the computer and not a USB hub. I have a few other ways but try this.
The manual shows:
Supported FC Firmware: INAV:SpeedyBeeF405WING(default) ArduPilot: SpeedyBeeF405WING
So it says clearly, that on a new delivered FC the INAV firmware is intstalled by default.
It is not possible to have both firmware at the same time on board of the FC.
So last time did you flash any firmware to the SpeedyBee, if yes which one?
Thanks Quadzilla, i have tried as you suggested but the program also gives an error message say no usb connection found?
I would like to try your other suggestions?
Thanks
Steve
I think we can safely conclude now that you have not in fact installed Ardpulot on the Flight Controller so you are in the wrong forum.
Here is one.
iNav forum
OK. FC, USB, hardware are just fine.
Well, 1.3.82 is up to date. Good.
That means usb found but no heart beat message.
Yes, driver is OK.
Yes, it supports ardupilot. But…
This board does not come with ArduPilot firmware pre-installed. Use instructions here to load ArduPilot the first time Loading Firmware onto boards without existing ArduPilot firmware.
Let’s look at the 1st reply to this post. All else is a waste of time.
Hi, yes, i did download INav firmware hoping it would get Ardupilot to recognised the usb port. Mistake??
Yea you will need to install Ardupilot. I recommend a FC with it installed to avoid the hassle.
I hope in this stage that this is a retorical question.
Did you read all the comments here?
So first install the correct Firmware to your FC.
And than read a lot in the wiki for the type of your drone. Follow every link inside the wiki. For most problems you find the answers there. In this case @dkemxr shows you the correct wiki page SpeedyBeeF405WING/ Wing Mini — Copter documentation but you didn’t read it and followed it.
What the… Firstly you did not install ardupilot but inav… Then you ask why mission planner doesn’t connect. Then you ask it on ardupilot website …
Are you for real? You try open your neighbor’s door with your key maybe you find your answer.
Thanks for your support, i am new to this, i got some great advice so far and trying a few things.
Awesome group of enthusiasts.
Thanks
