Upgrade firmware from command line

Is there a way to flash the firmware programmatically from a companion computer connected over USB? It appears there used to be a command line interface configuration tool, but it claims to have been deprecated in favor of MAVProxy. When I type help into MAVProxy however, none of the available commands seem to support flashing the firmware.

That’s some pretty significant archeology there - CLI was removed years
