From looking at the wired remote for that camera it just looks like a switch so you can probably trigger it using gpio.
The wired remote is only £10 off ebay, I would get one of those and take it apart to see how its wired and any voltages. If it’s just a 3.3v signal with a switch then you should be able to wire it direct to a servo output to drive it as a relay.
