Does an antenna tracker need a directional antenna to track a drones position or will a GPS and a dipole work as well?

Tracking is based on reported GPS position, no fancy RF magic required.
Thanks. That’ll simplify the design a whole lot. I was trying to figure out how to incorporate a Yagi antenna and still make it portable.
If you have a omnidirectional antenna though, then whatever direction the tracker rotates it, you’ll get pretty much the same signal, so it doesn’t actually help with your signal strength…
