Tips for protecting antenna during crashes

Hello,
Few days ago I flew my copter and a crash happened and at first inspection, no damages. Upon further investigation, the antenna connector from my xbee was damaged, but fortunately, fixable. What happened is when the drone crashed, the antenna also crashed with the ground and pulled itself from the connection, damaging the connector.

Now I am looking into what are the best practices for protecting antenna and the electronics devices connected to them. I am thinking of placing the antenna in another place and use a cable so that if something happens again, it would be more difficult to damage the device. What are the other ways?

(If general is the wrong section for this question, I will change it)
