Terrain Warning in Mission Planner

Hi All,

We’re using a VTOL plane to conduct survey flights over the ocean. We have the terrain following function switched on as we operate near cliffs and it works well. However, when out over the ocean, kilometers from land, if we descend below 80m, we receive a constant audio and text alert in Mission Planner along the lines of “Terrain Warning, ” (This alert appears anytime we’re below 80m, just to clarify). I’ve looked in both Mission Planner and the parameters of the plane but I can’t find any way to configure the warning to something more suitable to our needs. Given that we plan to fly surveys at 60m, it’s going to get very annoying, very quickly.

Any thoughts on where I could look next would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

its not ardupilot its mission planer you have set the wrong altitude in your mission plan

remember it will be what ever you arm it at is your home hight
so if you take off on a cliff then fly off the cliff down to water level its going to be wrong it need to be minus number

Brilliant, thanks Colin. We’ll have a play around with that setting.
