Tandem helicopter head setup

Hello,
I’m going through the setup of a tandem helicopter.
I’m struggling with the following.
Since the rotors rotate in opposite directions, two scenarios are available.

  1. keeping the same setting on both the heads forces to reverse the direction of the swash-plates movement.
That means that if I apply collective, one swash-plate move up and the other one move down.
  2. reversing the setting of the main grips on one of the heads keeps the direction of the swash-plates movement equal on both the rotor.

Between the two options, what is the preferable?
Thanks.

This is what I did when I was trying to make a V-22. I rotated the grips around so that the control horn was on the leading edge of the blade which is what I think you are indicating with option 2.

Bill,

it is what I decided to do.

Much better control on setup.

I kept collective range between -2,2 and +8.2 degrees.

For cyclic, I’m not able to set more than 6.5.

Any observation?

Thanks for taking care.
