Standalone Pixhawk2.1

Can the Pixhawk2.1 be used as a standalone logger (i.e. without drone) for GPS/compass/altitude infos?

The goal is to put it in a real scale airplane that is used to make large mapping areas.
The plane is already equipped with an A7RIII camera (and a stabilization system) and i’m wondering if the PX2.1 can be used to trigger automatically by using the distance triggering (DO_SET_CAM_TRIGG_DIST) + trigger manually the camera if needed + recording the telemetry infos in logs when triggered (without being armed & in auto mode).

Thanks !

I used a PixRacer as a “blackbox” logger in an RC pattern plane to log attitude and GPS info. The pattern plane was flown normally (completely manual) as it would be in competition. I’m not sure about the camera triggering though; should be possible.

I want to use a Pixhawk 2.1 and the distance triggering function (DO_SET_CAM_TRIGG_DIST)

i would be please to use arduplane but i have to find a way to lock the autopilot armed.
It seems the ARMING_REQUIRE parameter has been removed from the firmware…

Does anyone know another solution to lock the pix2.1 armed all the time ?

Best,
