Speedybee F405 V3 with Ardupilot

Hello everyone… I just got the Speedybee F405 V3 and wanted to install and setup ArduPilot on it.
Can anyone guide me through the process since I couldn’t find any tutorials on it.

You need to download the firmware first then flash it using betaflight or any other stm32 flashing software … Just look up flashing arducopter on omnibus f4 the process is same but be sure you are flashing the correct firmware…

But how should I set it up? Normally or is there a different process? Also what about the connections?

Hello. I installed Ardupilot on Omnibus F405PRO via STM32CubeProgrammer. The process will be similar for your controller. This must be done if your flight controller originally had different firmware installed. In the future, you will be able to update the firmware through Mission Planner.

Installation video (in Russian, but you can use Yandex.Browser for translation): https://youtu.be/Z8-dnLd84jc?si=7XzPHFHUTlHegzZU

Here you can see the diagram for connecting the peripherals to your controller: https:// SpeedyBee F405 V3 30x30 Flight Controller - Speedy Bee

It is possible that the list of parameters may differ for different controllers, but the differences are unlikely to be significant. You may encounter limitations caused by the amount of RAM in the controller. If you have less than 1 megabyte of RAM, not all Ardupilot features may work.

What about the setup?

It’s only installation.

Once the firmware is on the board it’s just like setting up any other ardupilot board . but you have to configure serial ports for radio and GPS / compass before doing the mandatory Setups like accelerometer/ compass calibration , radio calibration etc

Look up Painless360 on YouTube he has an entire series on how to setup arducopter step by step

The boards are different but the setup is mostly same .

Ardupilot has very extensive documentation: First Time Setup — Copter documentation

When you have done the initial setup, move to the configuration and tuning, as laid out here: How to methodically configure and tune any ArduCopter

There’s also this for the board:

There’s instructions there how to load the firmware. You could use BetaFlight, Inav, or STM32 programmer.
