Sonar without NMEA

Hi guys!

I recently bought a Lowrance Hook4x2 fishing sonar.
I want to make it wireless…

I know, that this sonar don’t use NMEA. If i cut the wire from Screen to Sonar, and make it wireless (2 piece RF module TTL) then how can i interpreter the data coming from Sonar head? It’s digital or analog?

How the screen communicate with the Sonar?

Hi @sempaijan,

I’m guessing but I suspect that all the measurements and calculations are done in the screen portion and it is just an analog connection down to the transducer. If this is correct then I don’t think you’ll be able to make it wireless so easily. I also don’t think it will be easy to connect it to ArduPilot.
