[Solved] Saving parameters; loading defaults, then reloading saved parameters results in missing data

I saved the parameter list in Mission Planner (it saved 851 values)
I loaded the defaults.
The flight controller rebooted.
The setting have been reset.
I load the previously saved parameter file, some values are back, others are missing.

Missing ones I can see at a glance:

  • second GPS is gone
  • Servo values (min, max, trim) gone
  • Radio calibration gone
  • learned cruise gone

Are not all values saved when saving the parameter file?

[Reinstalled MissionPlanner; issues below is fixed]

I thought MissionPlanner has a fault, and reinstalling it offered the repair option. Used that, now the parameter tree does not show Units, Options and description.

Oh dear :frowning:

The MP display issue was unfortunate. It’s usually pretty good but sometimes goes wonky. A reinstall or beta update usually does the trick. I have rarely had to do that.

Regarding default parameters, remember that there are “enable” parameters that require a reload or even reboot to show their “child” parameters.

So, if you ever load from a completely default state, restore the parameters once, write them, and reboot. Then do it again to catch all of the previously missing values.

Some of the parameters you claim are missing seem odd. Try it again?

If it continues to baffle, share the saved parameter file here.

Thanks a lot! :+1:

Reboot flight controller brought back the battery values, 2nd GPS… and from what I can tell quickly, all others seem back as well.

What a scare that was.
