I wonder if there would be merit in having a “low power until armed” option for VTX_OPTIONS? This would pick the next-highest power level above pit mode.
On my VTX, pit mode is really low power, to the extent that walking a few feet away makes the picture fuzz out. This basically means you can’t put the aircraft down, step back a few paces, and then arm it, without losing the FPV feed when you step back.
Pit mode makes sense if you’re tweaking things, but I think low power (25mW) would make more sense when you’re almost ready to fly.
