Setting up failsafe

Hello i have apm 2.8 flight controller. I have successfully completed the fail safe in my transmitter. The transmitter I am using is flysky fs-i6 transmitter. Do I have to set up fail safe in my flight controller also using mission planner or just setting up in the transmitter will work. I have flashed 3.2.1 firmware.
