Sensor model used in SIYI A8

I can’t find the model of the Sony sensor used in the SIYI A8.

By copy to @SIYI (Frank Wang) - can you please find this?

The reason I want to know is to properly configure photogrammetry software.

For example, when creating a Survey Grid mission in Mission Planner for a photo survey, the “Load Sample Photo” utility shows that the A8’s images are 4800x3200. This is 15MP - and the A8 is advertised as a 8MP camera.

I tried to find data on Sony 1/1.7" sensors - and except for an old one, I couldn’t find any that were 8MP. I did find one however that is 20MP.

Of course, the pixel count of the photo image files can be smaller than the sensor size. But it can’t be bigger.

I’m assuming that Mission Planner determines the pixel count by actually counting the pixels in the jpeg file - because the pixel count isn’t in the EXIF.

It would be really helpful to get clarification on these details.

Thank you!

Addendum -
Looking at an A8 file with IrFanView - it shows the A8’s image files as 8MP.

That suggests the Mission Planner “load sample photo” routine is determining the pixel count incorrectly.

Addendum #2 -
As a thought - I’m wondering if the A8 uses a higher megapixel sensor (higher than 8 MP) and then does “binning” to combine pixels for low light sensitivity and zooming.
