I AM LOOKING FOR A WAY TO COMBINE MULTIPLE TYPES OF HARDWARE USING A SINGLE FLIGHT CONTROLLER AND COMPANION COMPUTER.

SPECIFICALLY FOR A 12OZ CAN SIZED HOUSING AND FOUR ~2.5" DIAMETER PROPELLERS/PROPS POWERED BY AA’S AND SMALL TIRES AROUND THE EDGE OF THE DUCTED FANS/PROPS.

IN READING ABOUT ARDUPILOT, THE FIRMWARE DETERMINES WHICH MODE OF TRANSPORTATION IS ENABLED. HAS ANYONE COMBINED THE DIFFERENT MODES OF TRAVEL INTO THE SAME PIECE OF HARDWARE?

It is advisable to start with a simpler project before doing something massively complicated like combining all vehicle types in a single one.

Please start with a small simple copter. Learn to solve problems on that one first, before continuing on your journey.

BEEN HAVING A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE FORM FACTOR OF ALL DRONES OVER THE PAST 10 YEARS OR SO. JUST TOO BIG, OR FRAGILE IN A PACK. THIS AUTOMATED BATTERY SWAP IS BASED ON THE FUSELAGE OF A 2.5" DIAMETER CYLINDER. WITH SWAPPING ENDS AND STANDARD AA BATTERIES, ALONG WITH DUCTED FANS, AND IDEALLY A HIGHER END RELUCTANCE MOTOR.

OVERALL - SHOULD ALLOW FOR BATTERY SWAPPING WITH STANDARD CNC MACHINE PARTS AND A COUPLE VACUUM CLAMPS.

HOPING FOR A DRONE I CAN DISASSEMBLE AND THROW INTO A DRYBAG. THE IRIS, OLD RED AND WHITE DJI HEX, SKYCATCH, AND KESPRY DRONES ALONG WITH EVERYTHING ELSE ARE JUST TOO BULKY. EVEN THE RACING DRONES WITH SIMILARLY SIZED 2.5" PROPELLERS ARE FRAGILE.

ACTUAL GOAL - A NEW REEF OFF THE WEST COAST OF CORONADO FOR AQUACULTURE.

Your project looks quite interesting, but it’s quite difficult to read your all caps writing style, and I’m not sure I follow your goals even after re-reading a few times. How can we help?

What you want to do seems possible to me, but it surely requires a LOT of effort and experience. Based on your post I would suggest you do some simpler project with ardupilot as a start, and slowly achieve what you want on the way of learning.

NEEDS:

A REFERENCE FOR AMERICAN MADE UAV PARTS AND A COMPARISON OF FEATURES, IDEALLY AS AN EXCEL SHEET (WILL CHECK THIS FORUM FOR ONE) - OTHERWISE I HAVE GONE THROUGH THE ARDUPILOT SUPPORTED BOARDS AND CANNOT MAKE A DECISION BASED ON THE SPECIFICATION SHEETS. I NEED DETAILS IN THIS SHEET FOR: COUNTRY OF ORIGIN, BOARD DIMENSIONS, USB-C POWER-IN SUPPORT, AND USB-C DATA IN/OUT SUPPORT. While your idea sounds… ambitious, I think I can detect some technical proficiency through all the unrelated weird stuff. The all-caps don’t help. I would recommend you drop anything that doesn’t have to do with technical questions around Ardupilot. Also, while you may prefer to to read and write in all-caps, the consensus is proper capitalization, and if you are looking for helpful answers you might consider using it, too.
