Hi all,
I using ArduCopter for flying, but now it’s time for a boat. It seems that the “classic RC” setup with a spring loaded. centered throttle and one bidirectional, brushed ESC + rudder is not very common.
It least I haven’t found a setup guide.
- How do I arm with throttle stick centered (1500 signal)
- When I arm through GCS, the motor starts spinning fwd at pwm ~1680, like on a copter, with arm throttle min set. In manual mode, there should be no motor output on idle (stick centered), right?
- I can’t reverse the motor, ESC ouput goes from 1500 to 1900 only.
When using the RC pass-through from throttle channel to ESC, everything works as expected: stick forward, motor goes fwd, stick backwards, motor reverse, middle stops (1100-1500-1900)
I have the ESC output channel at 1500 trim. I can change it to 1100, which make the manual mode work as expected, but then the motor spins full rev on disarm.
“removing the spring” is not an option, because I would like to control the boat as usual in manual mode.
Thanks for any advice!
