Repurpose V2450GPS guts to run ROVER

Hello,
I have several V2450GPS drones I purchased as a lot. They were returns from retail stores. I would like to use the hardware from a V2450GPS drone to control a ground based device that uses hoverboard motors for positioning. All the capabilities I need come with the drone so I thought maybe I could load ROVER and make hardware modifications to interface the motors.

I’m just trying to think it through right now and my first question is:
Is there a better way to go about this? i.e. Is there an off the shelf device using open source Rover similar to what SkyRocket provided for the drones that I should start with instead of re-inventing the wheel?

Thank you in advance for any advice, knowledge or directions you may have to get me started.

Best regards,
Ken

Appears you may be able to use the custom firmware builder to build a Rover binary for the skyviper-v2450 target.

No idea what roadblocks you may encounter, but it’s the easiest thing to try first.
