Replace rudder with small fixed perpendicular thruster for steering

Hi everyone!

I’m new here and all in all in this area.

I have an idea to make a autopiloted boat with three thrusters. two powerful ones will be leading and directed along one straight line, and the third (less powerful) will look perpendicular to them and be responsible for steering the direction of movement.

How do you think, how it is better to realize my idea? Which one program template it is better to use? And do i need to change some code to make my idea work?

Why not place the two thrusters to the side and use skid steering?
I suspect that sideways propeller will cause significant drag at higher speeds or lose effectiveness if it will be tunneled like bow thruster.
