ReferenceError: expected_mag_yaw is not defined

I flew my quadcopter today but didn’t have much Yaw authority. Upon looking at the log file it says “expected_mag_yaw is not defined”. Does this mean, incomplete compass calibration?
The Pixhawk 1.0 on this quad came from another quad that used to fly flawlessly but had V3.7 firmware, which I recently updated to 4.4.3. I wonder if the upgrade whipped off the calibration files.
I just need someone to point out why yaw was so snappy.
